School’s Background
Svay Prahout Primary School is located in Kouk Pring Secondary School which was established in 1983. This school is located in Svay Prahout village, Kouk Pring commune, Svay Chrum district, Svay Rieng province and covers an area of 17,285 square kilometers and 3 kilometers from National Road No. 1.
In the school year 1983-1984 to the school year 2014-2015, Svay Prahout Primary School was a normal public school. In the 2015-2016 school year, Child Fun Cambodia collaborated with Kampuchea Action to Promote Education (KAPE) to make an agreement to implement the New Generation School Initiative in Svay Rieng province, Svay Chrum district in a rural area, unlike other new generation schools, which are located in the middle of the city or in the city and capital. Among the many schools in Svay Rieng province, there are two priority schools, Svay Prahout Primary School and Kouk Pring Secondary School. Svay Prahout Primary School has implemented the New Generation School Initiative since the 2015-2016 school year until the present. From 2015 to 2021, Svay Prahout Primary School implemented the New Generation School Initiative with financial support from Child Fun Cambodia and technical implementation by KAPE. However, in August 2021, Child Fun Cambodia ended its support. On Monday, November 08, 2021, KAPE and Child Fun Cambodia organized a virtual workshop on “Transferring the New Generation School, Kouk Pring Secondary School and Svay Prahout Primary School in Svay Rieng to the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports”.
